Just so no one is confused, I do not work for Bedfellows, and I didn't draw this puppet (although I did draw some extra mouth shapes and arms). The puppet was given to me by Kris Patrick.

I have a second test with Fatigue now! guineapigdan.deviantart.com/ar…

To see this scene in context, you can see part of the storyboard on the Bedfellows website, and vote for it if you'd actually like to see it become an episode. If not, it'll be made into a comic instead. krispyanimation.com/?p=294 Their series on You Tube can be seen here. www.youtube.com/user/TheBedfel… Also, don't forget that their creator Kris Patrick is on Furaffinity as well! www.furaffinity.net/user/shena… The voice was done by Sean Chiplock, aka PommyN64 www.furaffinity.net/user/pommy…

My animatic for this test: guineapigdan.deviantart.com/ar…

I've been working on my Bedfellows puppet test since I got out of school (since I no longer have any school work to worry about, I can finally concentrate on getting this done) and this has gone through several revisions. I'm now confident enough to post this online, although I'll make more improvements as I receive more feedback and get better at working in Flash. If there's anything you think can be done better on this, feel free to let me know.

Thanks to my classmates :iconaj627:, :iconspencerbingham:, and the Bedfellows new animator :iconnotorious84: for all their advice and help for me.

I was too busy in school to get mine on time, but Kris Patrick told me I could be a back up animator if the need arose. Still I'm glad to have done this test. It was fun trying it out!

Awesome! Man, you're lucky! I've never worked on anything that big. I did work in a studio on a production once for Fox but it never got picked up and it wasn't all that big a deal but like you said, it was a ton of fun!

Oh that's interesting. What was the production you worked on? Any chances of it being picked up by anyone else?

Tom's Life, it was a production created by Tom Meghalis (I think that's how his name is spelled). I'm not sure. I just know that Fox never picked it up and we never heard back from them. We finished the demo episodes in February of 2011, so we know Fox probably just never went anywhere with it.

So was this supposed to be auto-biographical of Tom Megalis? Maybe he can find someone else to finally air them.

I believe so. That's true. I don't know if he was interested in going elsewhere or if Fox has some rights to it yet.

I went to the channel to see a comparison. I actually liked your uncolored animatic since it wasn't constraint by puppetry, but now what I see that this show is suppose to be in puppetry animation, it kind of makes my comment moot ^^; Still, good luck with the vote ;)

One of the difficulties I had was simplifying what I did in my animatic into what the puppet could do when all the animations it had were limited. I have been told though the actual puppets used on the show are a bit more flexible than this test one I was handed.

Doesn't lookit to me. I know the MLPFiM show has a combination of puppetry animation and custom animation added to the character animations, and they look absolutely flawless; same technique they probably used in Foster's Home. From what the Bedfellows animation looks like, it kind of reminds me of how the Brother Chaps used to do with Homestar Runner... only with less swearing :XD: Or maybe how this dude [link] does it... no, wait... he does both styles, actually.

Yep. Just so you know, I didn't draw this puppet. Kris Patrick sent it to me, and all I did was animate it (although I did draw a few extra mouth shapes like gritting his teeth and some new arm poses). The animatic I did for this test and this fan drawing I posted a while ago [link] show what Sheen would actually look like if I drew him.

Yeah, I knew it wasn't something you drew, but it's pretty awesome either way. :D
